Pinyon Jay

Description: An uncommon and erratic resident in PJ woodland throughout the state, though mostly absent from the SE. One of the hardest species to pin down, and rarely guaranteed. Almost always in large flocks. Best located by its distinctive calls, which can often be heard from a long distance away.
