Ladder-backed Woodpecker
Description: A very local and uncommon resident in the southeast quadrant of the state. Almost always found along riparian corridors, especially in mesa/canyon country, but also possible in cholla grassland. Rare along the Arkansas River Valley from Canon City downstream to the Kansas border.
