Common Poorwill

Description: An uncommon to common breeder in the western canyons and mesas, the foothils and lower mountains, and the PJ canyons of the southeast, especially on rocky slopes with scattered trees. Uncommon migrant throughout the state. Usually calls actively only for a brief time at dawn and dusk, and only sporadically throughout the night.
